Welcome
Located in Woodley Park just off Connecticut Avenue, we strive to live out our name, that we might truly be a community for All Souls.
It doesn’t matter to us whether you’ve never been to church before, have been away for a while or might be a longtime Episcopalian. It doesn’t matter to us that you might be from another Christian tradition, from another faith altogether, or might simply be seeking a place of peace. All souls are welcome.
Some people know us from our Saturday farmer’s market. Others attend meetings in our building, enjoy our gardens or take advantage of parish programs. Many come for our celebration of the Holy Eucharist—most weeks the Mass is celebrated on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Precisely because our worship uses old words and ancient ritual, we find that this frees us to continue building a community that is diverse and loving, filled with celebration and joy. Join us when you can and help us continue to welcome all souls.

Lenten Carbon Fast 2010
Lent is a time to repent, reflect, sacrifice, and listen for God. This year, many are taking on a Lenten Carbon "fast," to heighten our awareness of our own use of resources and to encourage us to think about how to make choices that might help alleviate the poverty of others.

Volume 3, Number 15, March 7, 2010
STATIONS OF THE CROSS AS A SPIRITUAL PRACTICE
On Fridays in Lent at 7 p.m. a handful of us gather in the church to walk the Stations of the Cross. All Souls is blessed with beautiful stations, made especially for our church in the 1990s. Of the fourteen stations, eight are based directly on events recorded in the Gospels and six are based upon traditional stories about Jesus making his way through Jerusalem to Calvary. The simple weekly service allows us to walk to each station and pause for a reading from scripture and a prayer. We sing a verse of a traditional hymn between each station.

Adopt an Apartment with Transitional Housing
All Souls again has the opportunity to furnish an apartment for a homeless family through the Transitional Housing Corporation's Adopt-an-Apartment program.
Move-in day is Saturday, April 17, and by then we will need to have collected everything to furnish an apartment, from beds and dressers to toasters and spatulas.
The family that moves in will get housing and support services for two years and will take the furnishings with them when they move out into their own housing. There are lots of ways to help. If you have gently used items you can donate, please contact Heidi Fritschel, who will be in the undercroft before and after the 11 am Mass most Sundays between now and April 17. You can bring small items to church for storage. We will pick up large items in a truck on April 16 or 17.
To avoid duplication, please do not bring any items to church without checking first with Heidi at hfritschel@verizon.net.
You can see a list on the All Souls here.
We'll also need donations of cash (all beds and bedding must be purchased new) and help on move-day. Finally, we could use a co-chair for this effort; if you're interested please contact Heidi.
