Lenten Quiet Day February 25
The Fear of God: Our Troubles Transformed
The Fear of God: Our Troubles Transformed
Saturday, February 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Proverbs says “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10), but what does it mean to “fear” God? How does our relationship with God affect other parts of our life in which fear plays a part? Are faith and fear connected, or are they opposed to each other? Using scripture, tradition, story, and silence, this year’s Lenten Quiet Day will allow us to reflect on these questions together.
A Quiet Day is a mini-retreat. We will gather in the church for periods of about 20 minutes or so, during which Father John will offer a meditation. Between the meditations there will be time for silent reflection, journaling, or (weather permitting) walking outside. A Low Mass will be celebrated at noon. Participants should feel free to come and go as their schedules permit.
