The Bell Guild

The All Souls Bell Guild is a group of volunteer bell-ringers. One bell is rung as a call to worship approximately 10 minutes before the start of the service (8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.), and a half peal is rung at the conclusion of each service. In Lent and Advent, the bells are not rung, and on feast days and other celebratory occasions, the peal is rung before and after the service.
The bells in our tower (Treble, Second, and Tenor), named John, Eve, and Rebekah, are hung in the so-called American style, for swing chiming.  Ringing them is not as demanding of skill as “English” or “change ringing,” but there is an easily-learned technique of ringing them to sound their best. If you are interested in joining the Bell Guild, please contact the coordinator, Elaine Eaker.
