May 28, 2017: From Our New Senior Warden

I’d like to offer sincere thanks to all those who made last week’s annual meeting a success. As a result of the meeting, we have new wardens and a substantially new vestry.  The vestry met after the annual meeting and appointed a new registrar and treasurer, so the lay leadership of All Souls is now in place for the coming year.  Congratulations to those who were elected to serve on the vestry and special thanks to those who stood but were not elected. Your participation was vital to achieving the increased transparency that many in the parish have requested.  With the annual meeting completed, we are looking forward to another year of worship, service, and fellowship.

Quick on the heels of the annual meeting will be the Institution of Jadon as the 8th Rector of All Souls next Saturday. The Institution is shaping up to be a grand celebration, not just of Jadon’s call but also of the promising work we have ahead of us.  I hope to see many of you there. Summer typically sees a slow-down of activity around the parish.  The new vestry will use this time to form ourselves into a team and continue to envision how All Souls can grow into our new challenges while holding on to the spirit and character that drew many of us to worship here.  Pray for us.
