Social Life at All Souls

social-life-web-series-03We believe God laughs and that laughing and having a great time together in Christian community is a good thing.

Below you'll find ways you can get involved in the social life of All Souls. Please join us!

Sunday Breakfast and Coffee Hour

On Sundays in the undercroft, the room directly under the nave, we offer breakfast after the 8:30 AM mass and a coffee hour after the 11:00 AM mass.  All are welcome.

What is Coffee Hour all about in the first place?

Before coffee hour, we are in our sanctuary for a time of corporate worship. With our beautiful and inspired liturgy we hear the word of God through readings, the homily, the creed, prayers, hymns and anthems. We know and believe that God is with us from the teachings of our Lord because “where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

With that in mind, when we gather for Coffee Hour, our Lord is also present. We are given the time to worship in a far different way. This “Fellowship Time” is a prime opportunity to visit with people we’ve seen before but don’t know very well. It is a time to welcome newcomers and give them a taste of our church hospitality over a coffee and a bite to eat. It is a time for us to invite friends we know from work or neighbors. Coffee Hour is an opportunity for us to be present to each other.

Coffee Hour at All Souls is truly legendary, not because of the food but because of our church spirit of love and welcoming.  We invite you to sponsor a coffee hour!  It’s easy and fun.  For more information contact Daniel Callis or Jennifer Crier Johnston, or review the Coffee Hour guidelines.

20’s and 30’s Group

Members in their 20’s and 30’s gather at least once a month for various fellowship, formation, and service activities. Click here for more information

Episcopal Men's Fellowship

The Episcopal Men's Fellowship is open to all men of All Souls. It meets every other month over a meal in the church undercroft and features a presentation--often a travelogue--along with an occasional sing-along. Look for announcements in the bulletin or for more information please contact Ike Brannon.

Wise and Mature Ministry

The Wise & Mature Ministry consists of monthly luncheons following the Wednesday noon Mass. They are specifically tailored toward our older members, but all are welcome. Look for announcements in the Weekly for the date of each month's luncheon.

Women of All Souls

The Women of All Souls sponsor occasional social meetings, book club study and retreats.  For more information, check the weekly bulletin or speak to Mother Elizabeth Orens, one of our Voluntary Assistant Clergy.

Special Events

There is a social committee at All Souls that sponsors occasional events like parish square dances, our annual Fat Tuesday Pancake Supper, and other parties.  Look to the bulletin for more information or talk to the Senior Warden if you’d like to help plan them.
